Luxury Home Bar in Welford-on-Avon

A Statement Space Designed for Entertaining

Set within a large contemporary extension in Welford-on-Avon, this bespoke home bar was designed to become the defining feature of an impressive multi-use entertaining space.

The brief was clear from the outset —
create a bar that delivers a true “wow factor”, while seamlessly integrating with a space that includes a games area, dining zone, indoor swimming pool and outdoor patio kitchen.

The result is a bold, design-led installation that balances striking visual impact with exceptional functionality.

Designed to Command the Space

With the scale of the extension offering generous ceiling heights, we took the opportunity to design a bar that fully embraces the proportions of the room. The back bar rises significantly higher than a standard installation, drawing the eye upward and creating a strong architectural presence.

The front bar spans over four metres in width, forming a central focal point that anchors the entire space and encourages social interaction from every angle.

A Sculptural Centrepiece

To achieve the desired impact, the curved front bar was treated as a sculptural element rather than simply a functional surface.

We clad the bar in fluted panels of two varying profiles, introducing depth, rhythm and texture across its sweeping form. This was finished in a pearlescent paint, carefully selected to catch and reflect light throughout the day. As you move through the space, the finish subtly shifts and glimmers, adding a dynamic quality to the design.

The bar is grounded by warm metallic detailing, which complements the surrounding finishes and enhances the overall sense of luxury.

A Refined Back Bar Design

The back bar was designed to combine elegance with practicality, centred around a striking display feature.

At its heart sits a bespoke arched display in oiled oak, detailed with gold inlays and backed with antique mirror glass.

Glass shelving allows bottles and glassware to be showcased, while reflecting light to enhance depth and richness.

Flanking the central arch are two tall reeded glazed cabinets, providing additional display space and symmetry to the overall composition.

Materials & Finishing Touches

The bar is finished with an emerald green pattern quartz worktop, adding richness and contrast to the surrounding tones while providing a durable, practical surface for everyday use.

The combination of oak, gold, glass and textured finishes creates a layered, tactile palette that reinforces the sense of craftsmanship and quality throughout the space.

The Result

This bespoke home bar delivers exactly what it set out to achieve — a striking centrepiece that elevates the entire extension. It brings together craftsmanship, materiality and lighting to create a space that feels both luxurious and inviting.

More than just a bar, it is a destination within the home — designed for gathering, entertaining and enjoying for years to come.
